Umpire Feedback Software for AFL
SportsGauge helps Australian Rules Football umpire coaches and managers deliver structured feedback after a match. Observers record what they see from any device, giving umpires clear coaching points and a record of their progress across the season.
AFL Victoria, AFL NSW/ACT, AFL Queensland and AFL Northern Territory use SportsGauge
Tailored feedback for AFL umpiring
Customise forms for your umpiring group and different levels of experience and accreditation. A consistent framework can support field, boundary and goal umpires with criteria suited to their roles, from holding the ball, prior opportunity and advantage to boundary throw-ins, scoring decisions and positioning.
Coaching timestamps and game moments
Reference specific moments in the game when providing play-by-play feedback. An AFL umpire can connect the coaching note with the passage of play, making the discussion more specific than an overall rating alone.
Review before feedback reaches the umpire
Use the optional approval workflow to review an observer’s report and add coaching notes before delivery. Managers can bring context to an umpire’s feedback, which is then sent by email in a consistent format.
Season reviews and umpiring trends
Keep observations together so coaches can revisit an umpire’s season and identify recurring development themes. Season reviews, observation statistics and group trends support coaching conversations across your panel.
